Gertrude Mae Johnson was my father's maternal grandmother, my great-grandmother. I remember her as Grandma Reese, for she married William Edward Reese about 1915, after the death of her first husband, Thomas Maple Devine, in 1912. Born February 25, 1883, in Terre Haute, Indiana, she was the third of five children born to John Jefferson Johnson and his wife Anatildia "Ann" Black.
John Jefferson Johnson was born April 23, 1851, in Mineral Point, Wisconsin to Hans Johnson and Elizabeth Bright Johnson.
